Online Payments and E-commerce

Does the e-shop have access to the card number or any other sensitive data?

No. The card number, its expiry date and the CVC are only used for the authorisation of the payment in the GP webpay payment gateway and are not transferred to the mechants. The merchant only finds out, if the payment has been made without any complications.

This eliminates the necessity for the e-shops to implement demanding security measures. The operator of the GP webpay payment gateway, Global Payments Europe, takes care of the e-shop customers’ security and as such it is subject to regular, strict security audits. These audits ensure that no sensitive information is abused.
